Denmark has officially advanced to the final phase of its participation in the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, a multinational collaboration aimed at strengthening armoured vehicle capabilities among allied nations. This milestone was marked by the signing of three critical agreements: the Research and Development (R&D) Agreement, the Framework Agreement, and the Life Cycle Management (LCM) Agreement. These final documents formalize Denmark’s full integration into the programme, following its initial entry in April 2025 through a Technical Arrangement with the other member nations.

As part of this commitment, the Danish government confirmed the acquisition of 129 Patria 6×6 armoured vehicles, also known as the XA-300, from the Finnish defense manufacturer Patria. The total value of this contract is approximately 1.9 billion Danish kroner (around €247 million) and will be financed through the national Accelerationsfonden, a fund dedicated to expediting military capability enhancements.

A limited batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered before the end of 2025 to facilitate initial crew training and system familiarization. Full-scale deliveries will commence in 2026, contributing significantly to modernizing Denmark’s military vehicle fleet and enhancing its ground mobility and operational readiness.
