The Danish Ministry of Defence has confirmed a new order for 44 CV9035 MkIIIC infantry fighting vehicles, further expanding its fleet of advanced armored combat platforms. The purchase follows the earlier 2024 procurement of 115 CV90s, raising Denmark’s total future inventory to 159 units by the end of the decade. This acquisition effectively replaces the previously planned mid-life extension program for the country’s older CV9035DK models.

The latest agreement with BAE Systems, estimated at $450 million, provides not only the new vehicles but also spare parts, maintenance support, logistics, and operator training. The CV9035 MkIIIC configuration matches the upgraded standard recently adopted by the Netherlands, featuring the newest CV90 turret and improved battlefield performance.

Developed by BAE Systems Hägglunds, the CV90 platform is known for its versatility and ability to integrate a wide array of weapons, including autocannons, machine guns, missile launchers, and grenade systems. Denmark introduced the CV90 into service in 2007, and the platform has since become central to the army’s mechanized units.

Several NATO members—including Estonia, Finland, and Sweden—also operate the CV90, and five nations signed a joint procurement declaration in June 2025 to streamline future acquisitions. At the same time, Denmark and Sweden have supplied CV90 vehicles to Ukraine, strengthening Ukrainian armored forces amid ongoing hostilities with Russia.
