As part of a foreign military transaction with the United States, the Australian Defence Force has agreed to purchase its first M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). Canberra’s national defense plan, which includes the handover, aims to strengthen the military’s long-range attack capabilities against present and future threats.Up to 42 units have been ordered as part of the 1.6 billion Australian dollars ($1 billion) investment in the HIMARS.
