Kongsberg Defence Australia has achieved a landmark success by securing two major export contracts to supply Australian-made Naval Strike Missile (NSM) systems to European customers. The agreements involve both launcher systems and command-and-control technology, marking the first time NSM production has extended beyond Europe and the United States.
The first contract, worth 50 million Australian dollars ($32 million), covers the delivery of NSM launchers to Spain and Denmark. The deal underscores Australia’s emergence as a trusted supplier of advanced missile technology to NATO partners.
In parallel, Poland has signed a separate agreement with Kongsberg worth 30 million Australian dollars ($19.5 million) for the supply of NSM Coastal Defence System command-and-control consoles. These additions are expected to significantly boost the operational effectiveness of Poland’s naval defense assets.
This latest deal complements Poland’s 2023 acquisition of NSM systems, valued at 8 billion Polish zloty ($2.19 billion), which included missiles, launchers, command vehicles, and simulators. Together, the acquisitions reinforce Warsaw’s commitment to strengthening its coastal defense network.
