During the most recent Association of the US Army conference in Washington, DC, Teledyne FLIR unveiled Cerberus XL, a counter-drone technology capable of concurrently detecting up to 500 targets. The company claims that the trailer-mounted counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) uses long-range radars and sophisticated image technologies to swiftly find and follow drone targets.Additionally, it uses non-kinetic effectors from third parties to interfere with hostile UAS up to three kilometers (1.9 miles) away. According to Teledyne, Cerberus XL C-UAS covers every step of the counter-drone kill chain, including detection, tracking, identification, and defeat. “The platform… has sensors with sophisticated (artificial intelligence) to increase the accuracy of target identification.”
