AM General has received a $126.5-million contract from the US Army to deliver additional M1165A1B3 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (Humvees). This latest award builds on a previously granted contract, increasing the total value of the agreement to $3 billion. Although the Pentagon has not specified the number of vehicles included in the new order, the delivery will contribute to the Army’s existing inventory of roughly 120,000 Humvees.
Manufacturing work will be carried out at AM General’s production facility in South Bend, Indiana, with all deliveries expected to be completed by August 2027. To support the effort, the company will coordinate with the Army Contracting Command located at the Detroit Arsenal in Michigan.
Separately, AM General recently finalized a $150-million deal with Israel for the delivery of additional Humvees. Tel Aviv is set to begin receiving the vehicles later this year to replenish land systems lost in operations against Hamas in Gaza and to strengthen its readiness for future regional security threats.
