Thales has been contracted by France’s defense procurement agency to supply hybrid modular communication kits for integration into French Army vehicles. Designed to support diverse tactical environments, these systems combine military-grade radios with high-speed commercial Satcom (via OneWeb) and tactical 5G network access.
The kits are fully compatible with ASTRIDE 3, France’s digital transformation initiative for battlefield communications. In addition to supporting rugged terrain and electromagnetic disruption, the system allows real-time coordination between vehicles, dismounted troops, and command centers.
This solution ensures information dominance and operational flexibility across networks, with Thales highlighting that the design maximizes interoperability and mission continuity, even during satellite denial or network degradation scenarios.
