The U.S. Air Force, in collaboration with BAE Systems, is working to enhance a cutting-edge artificial intelligence tool designed to transform battlefield medicine. Known as BATDOK (Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Operations Kit), the software aims to provide medics with real-time, synchronized patient data throughout the entire treatment process—from the moment of injury all the way through to recovery.
BATDOK digitizes trauma care on the battlefield by creating a continuous digital record that moves with the patient. This seamless data integration helps ensure that every medical provider—whether in the field, in transit, or at a military hospital—has access to up-to-date, accurate medical information. The goal is to reduce human error, improve care coordination, and boost survival rates by giving medics the tools they need to make fast, informed decisions.
