L3Harris has been selected by the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit to develop a command-and-control (C2) system prototype that can manage several autonomous assets at once. Specifically, the defense contractor is supposed to operate as a systems integrator for the autonomy architecture and supply a user interface.In order for the US military to coordinate the operation of uncrewed aircraft, land, and maritime systems jointly, the prototype must also establish a collaborative autonomous capacity.The technology’s open architectural system, which can swiftly adapt to mission needs, is being used to test this capability.
