Lockheed Martin has secured a $9.8-billion US Army contract to produce almost 2,000 PAC-3 MSE interceptors, marking the largest order in the history of the company’s Missiles and Fire Control business.
Under the agreement, the company will supply 1,970 interceptors along with launchers, manufacturing tools, and essential support equipment. The production tempo is expected to rise sharply in 2025, when annual deliveries will surpass 600 interceptors for the first time.
This milestone continues a trend of escalating orders, building on the $5.2-billion award in 2024 and the $2.4-billion contract in 2023. The series of deals highlights the growing reliance on PAC-3 MSE technology for US and allied missile defense operations.
In anticipation of this growth, Lockheed had already begun expanding capacity two years prior. Among the key initiatives is the establishment of a new 85,000-square-foot facility in Camden, Arkansas, aimed at significantly boosting PAC-3 production throughput.
