Elbit Systems has won a three-year, $277 million contract from an unnamed overseas customer for UT30 MK2 remotely operated turret systems and munitions.
The system continues to attract international interest, having been selected earlier by General Dynamics European Land Systems for ASCOD vehicles and ordered by Romania for its Piranha V fleet.
The UT30 MK2 enhances armored platforms with modular, open-architecture design allowing both manned and unmanned operation. It features a 30mm Mk44 Bushmaster II cannon, a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun, anti-tank missile capability, dual sighting systems, and STANAG Level 4 ballistic protection.
