The US Army has taken a major step forward in drone defense by awarding a landmark $26 million contract to Danish tech company MyDefence, aiming to equip soldiers worldwide with advanced wearable counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS). This significant agreement, announced by MyDefence, signals a robust response to the escalating threat posed by drones in modern battlefields and demonstrates Washington’s strategic focus on safeguarding troops in increasingly congested and contested airspace.

At the heart of this initiative is MyDefence’s Soldier-Kit, a compact and highly portable system that merges two key technologies—the “Wingman” drone detector and the “Pitbull” jammer—into a 1.3-kilogram unit that seamlessly attaches to standard tactical gear. Designed to provide real-time situational awareness, the system enables soldiers to detect, identify, and disrupt enemy drones without sacrificing mobility or combat readiness.

The device has recently undergone field trials during joint military exercises in Germany, coordinated by the US European Command, where it demonstrated strong adaptability across a variety of operational environments. Beyond its battlefield utility, the contract also highlights deepening transatlantic defense cooperation, reinforcing the role of European partners in developing high-impact, mobile defense solutions.
