On the closing day of UMEX and SIMTEX in Abu Dhabi, UAE defense companies were awarded contracts totaling AED 1.26 billion ($342 million), including deals for EDGE Group and Caracal International. EDGE’s agreements cover jet-powered UAVs and tracked unmanned systems for direct fire support, while Caracal secured remote-controlled weapon procurements. Across the exhibition, 11 deals totaling $980 million were signed, reflecting a 20% growth over 2024. A major focus was on 3D-printed unmanned surface vessels, which offer rapid, low-cost production and integration with advanced sensors and combat payloads. These investments underscore the UAE’s commitment to indigenous defense capabilities and innovative unmanned technologies.
