The United Arab Emirates is taking a significant step toward automated defense sustainment with the development of a new Autonomous Logistics Platform (ALP), driven by a coalition of local and international technology firms. The platform is intended to modernize military logistics by introducing intelligent, unmanned solutions across production and support environments.

The project is spearheaded by EDGE, alongside the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), Micropolis, and SteerAI. The collaboration focuses on deploying AI-enabled unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) specifically designed for defense logistics tasks, enabling the seamless transport of materials across manufacturing lines and between multiple facilities.

The ALP integrates a suite of advanced capabilities, including autonomous navigation, safety and collision-avoidance systems, and centralized fleet management. Digital twin models provide real-time visibility into logistics operations, allowing planners to simulate scenarios, monitor performance, and adjust workflows to meet changing operational demands.

By combining situational awareness, data-driven optimization, and predictive analytics, the platform aims to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability across military supply chains. The initiative underscores the UAE’s push toward AI-powered autonomous systems, reinforcing its ambition to lead in next-generation defense logistics and smart manufacturing solutions.
