Europe’s leading defense nations have announced a cooperative effort to build cost-effective drones and counter-drone technologies. Driven by battlefield experiences in Ukraine, the LEAP initiative aims to quickly produce scalable unmanned systems that enhance NATO security. By replacing expensive missile-based defenses with affordable drone solutions, the program supports rapid deployment, mass production, and greater operational flexibility across European forces.
