The UK Ministry of Defence has committed £300 million ($402.4 million) to enhance flight training for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, aiming to bolster their capabilities for modern warfare. The contract, awarded to Bristol-based Ascent Flight Training, includes constructing new facilities and integrating advanced synthetic and mission simulation technologies to support training on a wide range of aircraft. The initiative is expected to quadruple the number of trained crews to around 140 personnel annually. Training will take place at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose and RAF Cranwell, with facility development led by Ascent’s parent company Babcock under a £70 million ($93.8 million) agreement.
