At the Bordeaux-Mérignac airport, the French Navy successfully completed the first flight of the Falcon 2000LXS Albatros maritime surveillance and intervention aircraft. It came after Paris awarded up to 12 aircraft to local defense company Dassault Aviation in 2020 to replace the military’s outdated aerial patrol fleets of the Falcon 50 Surmar and Falcon 200 Guardian.
