Poland has sealed a deal worth 150 million złoty with Mesko, a subsidiary of PGZ, for the delivery of thousands of armor-piercing 120mm tank rounds. The APFSDS-T shells are built for high-penetration roles, featuring a 7.3 kg projectile and 8.4 kg propellant for added kinetic energy. These rounds are ignited by a reliable GUW-7-120 electric primer and reach speeds nearing 1,670 m/s. Intended for the Leopard 2’s main cannon, their design may also suit the M256 gun system of the M1 Abrams. This acquisition represents a strategic investment in strengthening Poland’s armored warfare capabilities.
