Spanish firms EM&E Group and Indra Group have partnered with Belgium’s Intersoft Electronics Services to jointly promote counter-drone (C-UAS) capabilities in the Belgian defense sector.
The agreement was revealed during the Brussels European Defense Exhibition & Conference. EM&E Group will contribute electro-optical sensors and remotely operated weapon stations, Indra will supply radar and command-and-control systems, and Intersoft will manage integration and help bring the system to the Belgian market.
The integrated solution is designed to detect, identify, track, and, if needed, neutralize drones across diverse operational settings. The consortium stressed that the project enhances European strategic autonomy, leverages EU-developed technologies, and strengthens airspace security while reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.
This partnership comes as European nations intensify efforts to reinforce counter-drone defenses, especially along eastern borders. In February, Poland contracted Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa for $1.65 billion to provide 18 C-UAS batteries featuring the Protector remote weapon station.
Earlier, Spain deployed its Crow C-UAS system to Lithuania, where it is based at Šiauliai Air Base, supporting NATO’s ongoing 70th Air Policing Mission for drone surveillance and neutralization.
