Amid growing demands for increased firepower, South Korea is pursuing upgrades to several key weapon systems. The Defense Agency for Technology and Quality (DTaQ) recently carried out a three-day field support mission aimed at identifying operational enhancements for the K9 howitzer, Chunmoo rocket launcher, and Cheonma missile system. The effort involved 40 maintenance experts from DTaQ and the South Korean Army’s 70th Maintenance Battalion, along with representatives from leading defense companies such as Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Rotem, and LIG Nex1.
