Saudi Arabia has signed a new agreement with Spanish shipbuilder Navantia to construct three more Avante 2200 corvettes, building upon an earlier 2022 deal for five vessels. Under the latest contract, one corvette will be manufactured in Spain, while the remaining two will be constructed in Saudi Arabia, fostering local shipbuilding capacity. The deal also encompasses logistics, system testing, performance assessments, and training programs for Saudi personnel.
