Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for Giraffe 4A radar systems and related services to equip the Swedish Armed Forces. The order is valued at about SEK 1.4 billion, with delivery slated for 2026-2027.
The Giraffe 4A will strengthen Sweden’s ground-based air surveillance capabilities through a mobile, advanced sensor platform featuring software-upgrade functionality.
This multi-purpose radar offers multiple operational modes and can simultaneously track and identify numerous targets, making it well-suited for air and maritime surveillance as well as military air traffic control operations.
