Russia announced the capture of Rivnopillia and Mala Tokmachka in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, continuing its gradual advances against outnumbered Ukrainian forces. Although fighting is less intense there than on the eastern front, Russian troops—better supplied and more numerous—are pushing forward on both axes. In the east, battles are focused on Pokrovsk, a key logistical hub where Russian troops have recently penetrated Ukrainian defensive lines. Meanwhile, peace negotiations remain stalled, and the anticipated Budapest summit between the U.S. and Russian presidents did not take place, leaving the diplomatic track frozen.
