In a strategic collaboration, EUROATLAS and Rheinmetall have agreed to integrate the Greyshark autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) into Battlesuite, an AI-enabled control platform designed to manage coordinated operations in littoral and open-ocean environments. The integration aims to streamline undersea mission execution through advanced automation and data-driven decision support.
Greyshark has been developed for long-distance maritime operations, capable of sustaining speeds above 12 knots (14 miles or 22 kilometers per hour) and covering more than 10,000 nautical miles (11,507 miles or 18,520 kilometers) on a single deployment. This endurance allows it to operate in remote or contested waters for extended periods.
The vessel can perform a wide spectrum of autonomous missions, including intelligence and surveillance operations, critical infrastructure inspection, mine detection and clearance, and maritime boundary patrols. Its modular systems make it adaptable for both military and civilian applications.
By integrating Greyshark into Battlesuite, the partnership will enable seamless coordination between underwater assets and command centers, improving operational effectiveness and situational awareness for naval forces in diverse maritime missions.
