Raytheon has been granted a $646-million contract by the US Navy to manufacture four more SPY-6(V) radars.
This latest procurement brings the total number of units ordered to 42, with production extending through 2028. The SPY-6 is a next-gen radar offering full-spectrum 360-degree defense against various threats, including cruise missiles and electronic warfare.
The systems are built in Raytheon’s Radar Development Facility in Andover, Massachusetts—a 30,000-square-foot center supporting numerous radar lines.
This site features vertical integration and automation for efficiency, along with continuous system evaluation and testing.
Earlier this month, a separate $536-million SPY-6 contract was also awarded to Raytheon.
