A new fog computing solution developed by Forward Edge-AI in collaboration with the NSA is set to be awarded a US patent, marking a major step forward in battlefield data protection. The innovation is tailored for use in compromised or contested network environments.

This system is designed to resist modern cyber threats using quantum-safe encryption and built-in anomaly detection to monitor and secure sensitive military data at the edge of the network.

Different from traditional cloud-based frameworks, fog computing minimizes reliance on centralized servers by bringing data processing closer to the field, where it’s actually generated. This not only enhances speed and security but also ensures data access during network disruptions.

The patent reflects growing interest in decentralized computing models for defense applications, especially those requiring robust, real-time decision-making in high-risk operational zones.
