Rheinmetall of Germany has partnered with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), Poland’s leading state defense enterprise, to develop a new range of armored support vehicles for the Polish Armed Forces. The collaboration, formalized through a memorandum of understanding, marks another step in deepening defense-industrial integration between the two NATO allies.
The partnership will create a new joint venture known as the European Support Vehicles Center, which will design and build mine-clearing, bridge-laying, and armored recovery vehicles. The initiative aims to strengthen Poland’s domestic production base while leveraging Rheinmetall’s expertise in modern combat engineering systems.
Rheinmetall already operates within Poland via its Warsaw-based subsidiary, contributing to various armored vehicle programs, including the Keiler NG mine-clearing system. For its part, PGZ oversees most of Poland’s military production through a network of over 60 defense enterprises, enabling large-scale collaboration and rapid production of key assets to bolster national and regional defense capabilities.
