Congress has approved a $10 million allocation for radar development at Eglin Air Force Base, paving the way for CHAOS Industries’ ASTRIA system. This next-generation mobile radar is designed to follow multiple airborne objects at once, making it well-suited for military test ranges and advanced pilot training.

The ASTRIA platform is unique for its use of “coherent distributed networking.” Instead of relying on a single costly radar unit, the system links smaller, affordable radar sensors into a unified network. Each additional sensor enhances the overall capability, creating broader and more precise tracking coverage.

CHAOS Industries explained that this modular approach allows the system to scale quickly, adapting to mission requirements while keeping costs under control. The flexibility of ASTRIA could prove particularly valuable as demand for affordable and resilient radar solutions increases.

When fully deployed, the radar will improve pilot readiness by generating more realistic scenarios involving contemporary air and missile threats. By equipping crews with advanced training tools, the system is expected to sharpen their skills and improve US force preparedness in complex global environments.
