ScaffFloat, a UK-based marine engineering specialist, has rolled out the MilFloat, a new floating platform built for flexible military operations. Designed as a self-propelled, multi-purpose system, the MilFloat is optimized for rapid deployment and high adaptability, giving armed forces a transport and logistics option capable of operating under demanding conditions.

The platform measures 16 meters in length and 6.4 meters in width (52 by 21 feet). It is designed to be easily transported in standard shipping containers or by road on flatbed trailers. With a carrying capacity of up to 30 tonnes (66,138 pounds), the MilFloat remains afloat even under direct enemy fire, offering resilience and survivability in combat zones.

In promotional material, the MilFloat is seen transporting a CVT FV103 Spartan armored personnel carrier, demonstrating its heavy-lift capabilities. This feature positions it as a potential asset for militaries requiring mobile, modular platforms for transporting armored vehicles, equipment, and supplies across water obstacles or in contested coastal areas.
