Silvus Technologies has introduced its latest soldier-worn communication system, the StreamCaster NEXUS, designed to improve battlefield connectivity and situational awareness for military personnel. Mounted on a soldier’s chest, the compact unit provides access to real-time video feeds, voice channels, and tactical data — essential for coordinated operations in fast-moving environments.

Engineered for mobility, the NEXUS system is optimized for low size, weight, and power consumption, enabling users to operate efficiently during extended missions. The design allows troops to maintain continuous communication links without sacrificing agility or endurance, offering a significant upgrade over conventional portable radios.

The core of the device features Silvus’ proven SM5200 MANET radio, which delivers over 100 Mbps data throughput and two watts of transmission power for robust and secure communications. The radio’s adaptive networking capabilities allow it to form resilient mesh connections that dynamically reroute data in the event of signal disruption.

Silvus has also ensured compatibility between StreamCaster NEXUS and commercial smartphones such as the Samsung S23 and S23 Tactical Edition, allowing seamless integration with existing battle management and situational awareness apps. The company said the new solution will help enhance mission effectiveness and communication reliability for dismounted soldiers operating in complex environments.
