The Czech Armed Forces have signed a major contract with Gentex Corporation, a leading American defense equipment manufacturer, to procure ballistic helmets and communication headsets as part of a nationwide modernization effort. The deal, worth over 1 billion Czech korunas ($47.8 million), was arranged through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to streamline allied defense procurement.

The Pennsylvania-based firm will deliver its Ops-Core series helmets, known for their lightweight construction and advanced protection, along with complementary systems such as AMP tactical headsets, push-to-talk communication units, and protective attachments. These include ballistic visors, facial shields, jaw guards, and Special Operations Tactical Respirators equipped with inbuilt microphones for clear audio transmission in contaminated or high-noise zones.

The integrated suite will serve as a comprehensive protection and communication system, boosting soldier safety, coordination, and mobility during combat and peacekeeping missions. The combination of ballistic protection and hands-free communication is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency for Czech troops in both domestic and NATO deployments.

Under the program framework, NSPA will manage logistics and delivery coordination with the Czech Ministry of Defence, while Gentex will provide personnel training, equipment fitting, and lifecycle support. All deliveries are planned for completion by October 2026, ensuring Czech soldiers are equipped with the latest NATO-standard battlefield technology.
