The collaborative Mighty Hornet IV program between Taiwan’s NCSIST and Kratos has reached a milestone with successful validation of integrated payload and mission systems. Built on the proven MQM-178 platform, the UAV emphasizes modularity and rapid mission reconfiguration. The recent ground tests confirm readiness for forthcoming flight evaluations and align with plans for localized manufacturing in Taiwan. Combining high subsonic speed, extended range, and multi-role adaptability, the system strengthens Taiwan’s asymmetric defense posture while deepening US–Taiwan defense-industrial cooperation.
