As part of its commitment to enhance naval capabilities, the Royal Canadian Navy has reached a supply agreement with Rolls-Royce for the first three River-class destroyers. The package aims to deliver reliable propulsion and operational support for these advanced vessels.
Rolls-Royce will furnish each ship with a MT30 marine gas turbine, MTU Series 4000 diesel generators, and a Mission Bay Handling System. A direct contract with Irving Shipbuilding has secured the first two components, while Wajax Power Systems in Canada is working on the diesel generator agreement. These systems will be vital to the new destroyers’ performance and mission readiness.
