Lumibird Photonics has been contracted by Saab to deliver 57 VIDAR laser rangefinders for use on the Royal Danish Navy’s frigates. These systems will be delivered over 2025 and 2026 and integrated into Saab’s CEROS naval fire control platforms.
The VIDAR units will enhance the precision and responsiveness of the Danish Navy’s weapon systems by enabling high-speed and accurate target tracking in complex maritime conditions. The integration supports improved defense against agile threats such as drones and small vessels.
With this latest collaboration, Lumibird Photonics continues to expand its role in NATO-aligned naval projects and sees opportunities for additional orders from other defense operators.
