As part of the high-tier segment of the VLTP program, the French DGA has ordered 530 SERVAL vehicles through a temporary joint venture between KNDS France and Texelis. Of these, 24 SERVAL C-UAV vehicles are slated for delivery to the French Army starting in 2028, offering decisive counter-UAV capabilities. The Military Programming Law (LPM) ultimately anticipates acquiring 48 such systems.
SERVAL C-UAV: The Latest Model in a Versatile Series
Featuring the ARX®30 remotely-operated turret developed by KNDS France, the SERVAL C-UAV provides close protection for valuable assets. This variant brings the SERVAL family to 23 different configurations, including electronic warfare, medical evacuation, troop transport, VSHORAD, and command post versions. The SCORPION program’s strength lies in its adaptability, with KNDS France continually innovating to meet the challenges of modern, high-intensity operational theaters such as Ukraine.
The SERVAL C-UAV is equipped with the ARX®30 30mm cannon, which boasts high elevation and rapid firing capability. Its radar and radiofrequency detection systems, combined with Airburst munitions, make it a key tool in counter-UAV warfare.
SERVAL C-UAV: Protecting Tactical Maneuvers
Utilizing extensive weapons and ammunition expertise, KNDS France delivers a comprehensive counter-UAV system that offers users operational superiority against airborne threats. The DGA contract also includes development of a 30mm Airburst munition by KNDS France.
The ARX®30’s 30mm gun is integrated into a full system consisting of a 3D radar, omnidirectional RF detector, sighting system, turret, and dedicated 30mm Airburst munitions. KNDS France thus provides a full-spectrum solution—from detection to neutralization—that can be adapted to multiple platforms, including land, air, and sea, to meet various operational requirements.
