The Israeli government has approved the purchase of “hundreds” of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) and next-generation corvettes for its military. The Israeli Navy will shortly replace its outdated Sa’ar 4.5-class ships with five Reshef-class sophisticated missile corvettes, according to a Ministry of Defense release.The new corvettes will be used for patrols and military operations, among other marine activities. Israel will also purchase an unknown quantity of US-made JLTVs for its mobility units. The vehicles will assist with a variety of tasks, including as search and rescue missions, troop transport, and fighting.
