thyssenkrupp Marine Systems has entered into a partnership with VEM Technologies to manufacture heavyweight torpedoes in India. The collaboration builds on an earlier memorandum of understanding signed in 2025 and marks a new phase of cooperation between the two organizations. The initial objective is to produce torpedoes for submarines used by the Indian Navy. To support the project, Atlas Elektronik will transfer the necessary technologies and provide software licenses for production. According to reports, the manufacturing program could produce around 500 torpedoes annually. In the future, the partnership may expand into deeper collaboration on new torpedo systems and could eventually result in a joint venture between the companies.
