Baykar Technology has revealed that its modernized Bayraktar TB2T-AI drone has broken its own altitude record, showcasing Turkey’s growing prowess in drone innovation. In a recent test, the unmanned aircraft soared to 40,000 feet (12,192 meters), setting what the company calls a “record in its class.”

The UCAV not only achieved this altitude but also demonstrated significant speed and climb efficiency, reportedly reaching 160 knots (300 km/h) and ascending to 30,000 feet (9,144 meters) in only half an hour. Such performance highlights the platform’s strengthened operational capacity.

The upgraded Bayraktar managed to sustain an altitude of 40,023 feet (12,199 meters), exceeding its earlier record of 37,096 feet (11,306 meters). However, Baykar did not provide details regarding the drone’s total flight time during the trial.

This achievement reflects Turkey’s continued investment in advanced indigenous unmanned aerial vehicles, reinforcing the Bayraktar’s role as a strategic asset for future combat and surveillance missions.
