To better prepare soldiers for today’s challenges, the Hellenic Armed Forces introduced a state-of-the-art battle uniform. A new helmet, body armor, a first-aid pack, and specially made shoes and clothes with biometric sensors are among the innovative elements of the uniform. It is also lighter and composed of contemporary materials, giving soldiers more versatility in a variety of settings. The total cost of the battle gear program, which is a component of Greece’s long-term military modernization initiatives, is 204 million euros ($212 million).
