ARX Robotics of Germany has introduced its latest innovation, the Combat Gereon UGV, developed under the concept of “first unmanned contact.” The idea emphasizes sending robotic platforms into danger zones before soldiers, reducing casualties and improving mission safety.
This new variant builds on the proven Gereon RCS unmanned system but shifts focus toward direct combat applications. Through the addition of artificial intelligence features, the vehicle gains the ability to operate more autonomously and adapt to changing battlefield conditions.
Central to the system is the Mithra operating framework, which not only interlinks multiple machines but also manages updates efficiently. This ensures that fleets remain mission-ready while allowing the platform to evolve across a broad range of operational tasks.
The unveiling highlights Germany’s growing role in robotics-driven defense technologies, with ARX aiming to equip militaries with versatile unmanned systems capable of handling the most dangerous missions in future conflicts.
