General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) has secured a $99.3 million contract to develop advanced drones for U.S. intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and strike missions.
While exact specifications remain confidential, a standout feature of the GHOST program is its hybrid-electric propulsion system with a ducted fan, indicating the drone will offer longer endurance and quieter performance in contested environments.
The project is slated for completion by August 2028, with development taking place in Poway, California.
