Ukraine has received its first batch of Rodeur 330 unmanned aerial vehicles from French firm EOS Technologie, strengthening Kyiv’s drone capabilities as the conflict with Russia approaches its fourth year. The delivery represents the initial transfer of the interceptor system under a broader effort to expand Ukraine’s use of affordable unmanned platforms on the battlefield.
The shipment supports Franco-Ukrainian industrial cooperation, aimed at countering the mass employment of Russian drones through the deployment of low-cost, high-endurance loitering munitions. According to AFP, the strategy is intended to match Moscow’s daily drone output while enabling Ukrainian forces to neutralize large numbers of incoming threats using economically sustainable systems.
EOS Technologie officials said the Rodeur 330 is designed to act as both a reconnaissance asset and a kamikaze drone, providing Ukrainian forces with flexible mission options. The platform has already demonstrated its effectiveness during testing, including first-person-view engagements against armored targets and fully autonomous operations against simulated threats.
The Rodeur 330 features a 25 kg airframe, 3 m wingspan, and a 4 kg payload capacity, with operators requiring only one week of training. Launched by catapult and controlled using a handheld gamepad, the drone offers up to five hours of endurance, a 500 km operational range, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Each system is delivered with a full support kit, including a flight case, ruggedized laptop, control transmitter, and antenna set.
