In a continued effort to fortify coastal defenses, Lithuania has finalized an agreement with Marine Alutech Oy Ab for the supply of two advanced multi-purpose attack boats. Coordinated with neighboring Latvia, this acquisition is targeted at expanding operational readiness and maritime deterrence capabilities.
The vessels are configured to support diverse missions, from border security and tactical insertion to rapid emergency response and surveillance. Designed for the shallow, constrained waters of the Baltic littoral, they offer high speed, maneuverability, and adaptability to local threats.
By synchronizing procurement with Latvia, Lithuania underscores a regional strategy focused on synergy and integrated defense—fostering interoperability and fast-tracking deployment timelines to improve collective response to maritime incidents and hybrid security risks.
