The United Arab Emirates’ EDGE Group has signed a landmark contract worth $2.45 billion to build and supply eight Falaj-3 patrol vessels to Kuwait, bolstering Gulf security cooperation.
The deal includes vessel design, construction, trial testing, delivery, and maintenance logistics. EDGE called it a strategically vital step for both countries facing common maritime threats in the Gulf region.
This follows an earlier partnership in which Kuwait tasked EDGE with providing repairs and upgrades to its existing fleet, along with training programs for naval personnel—demonstrating a growing reliance on UAE’s defense industry.
