Dronetag has been selected as one of 20 companies to participate in the second cohort of the European Union Defence Innovation Scheme Business Accelerator, focusing on counter-drone technology.

Funded through the European Defence Fund, EUDIS supports startups developing innovative solutions for European defense. Six of the chosen firms operate in the counter-unmanned aerial system sector, underscoring Europe’s rising demand for effective and scalable drone detection systems.

Participants benefit from technical mentoring, industry workshops, and direct engagement with defense stakeholders, investors, and EU institutions. The program includes bootcamps alongside major defense events and more than 300 hours of advisory support to help companies improve their products and navigate procurement processes.

Dronetag is the first Czech company to join the accelerator. In 2023, it also became the first Czech firm to be selected for the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic.

The company specializes in passive radio-frequency systems that detect drones by capturing signals emitted by the aircraft or their controllers. Because these systems do not broadcast signals, they can operate within existing infrastructure without causing interference and can complement other surveillance networks.

Dronetag’s systems leverage the Remote ID standard, a required identification protocol for many drones in the US and EU. The company is also developing tools to detect drones that do not broadcast Remote ID, including proprietary communication links and first-person view systems by analyzing control and video signals.

Future development efforts include locating drones through satellite navigation signals and strengthening resistance against spoofing or signal manipulation.
