BBN Technologies, a subsidiary of RTX, has been selected by DARPA to support the INGOTS program, which focuses on improving cybersecurity through the automated detection and disruption of complex exploit chains.
As cyberattacks become increasingly sophisticated, exploit chains—multiple vulnerabilities linked together—have emerged as a serious concern. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s database now includes more than 1,300 known exploited vulnerabilities, with numbers growing steadily.
Traditional approaches to analyzing such threats often rely on manual techniques that are time-consuming and require high-level expertise. INGOTS seeks to automate this process by enabling the fast modeling, generation, and assessment of potential attack paths.
The effort is expected to empower cybersecurity professionals with next-generation tools to prevent real-world cyber incidents more efficiently and proactively.
