French shipbuilder CMN navy and United Arab Emirates defense producer EDGE Group have formed a joint venture to produce navy ships. AD NAVAL, which is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, will take advantage of existing contracts for “small to mid-size” naval platforms, including corvettes, offshore patrol vehicles, high-speed interceptors, trimarans, and landing craft, totaling 7 billion euros ($7.5 billion).Additionally, the cooperation will investigate how EDGE’s sophisticated autonomous air and sea systems, smart weaponry, radar, and cyber technologies can be integrated into ships built by AD NAVAL for non-NATO naval forces.
