The British Army has concluded comprehensive mobility testing for its Challenger 3 main battle tank under the leadership of Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL), a UK-Germany joint venture. Trials conducted in partnership with QinetiQ spanned 789 kilometers (489 miles) over mixed terrain, assessing crew ergonomics, vibration effects, and ammunition safety. Insights from these trials will refine design, mitigate risks, and support live-fire exercises. The program, valued at £800 million ($1 billion), will deliver 148 tanks by 2030, featuring modular armor and production across a European supply chain including the West Midlands, Glasgow, Newcastle, and the Isle of Wight.
