Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim), a division of BAE Systems, has been awarded a long-term contract to deliver its Digital Virtual Trainer (DVT) for the Canadian Army. The agreement will expand access to next-generation simulation technology to improve force preparedness.

The DVT package provides an immersive training environment where soldiers can strategize, practice maneuvers, and evaluate missions before deployment. The platform supports both first-person soldier training and large collective wargaming exercises, allowing units to train collaboratively from virtually anywhere.

At its core, the solution employs Virtual Battlespace 4 and the Blue IG rendering engine for high-quality visual realism. It also incorporates TerraTools Platinum, enabling the rapid creation of digital terrain based on authentic geospatial data, giving exercises a near-real-world feel.

The initial deal runs for five years, with an option to extend for an additional three years of sustainment support. This ensures the Canadian Army can rely on BISim’s advanced simulation ecosystem for long-term operational training and mission rehearsal needs.
