A new agreement between Northrop Grumman and Lithuania aims to boost local production of medium-caliber ammunition through a collaboration with Nammo and the Giraitė Armaments Plant. Signed at the NATO Industry Summit, the deal builds upon a previous arrangement and introduces advanced 35mm ammunition manufacturing capabilities to Lithuania.
As part of the partnership, the U.S. defense contractor and its Norwegian counterpart will supply production technology and support, positioning Lithuania as a key player in allied defense supply chains. The project supports national defense goals and is part of a broader plan to raise defense spending and modernize the country’s military forces through 2030.
This initiative also enhances cooperation among NATO members and contributes to strengthening military readiness in light of ongoing regional security threats.
